Arman - Pastel De Leche
I, Arman, was the chef behind the dish Pastel De Leche. This dish was passed down through generations of my family. It started with my great-grandmother who lived in Honduras; she would make it to feed not only her neighbors but those in need. She passed it onto my grandmother and then to my mother then to me. During my time making this pie, I had to first perfect a recipe that had faded away over time, with ingredients and amounts getting lost. But once I was able to refine what I was given into a solid dish, I knew I would be representing my culture through the dish.
