Lyric - Honduran Pastelitos
Pastelitos are something I grew up eating; in elementary school every morning before my morning program at school, called Books. My mom always took my brother and I to the corner store to get Pastelitos. I also grew up eating them from my Aunt and Grandma who are Honduran, and Pastelitos are something that is common in my culture. Pastelitos are a very common dish in many different cultures, especially Hispanic culture. To me, Pastelitos are a meat filled fried dough. Iām excited that a group is sharing a piece of my culture because it was something that was a staple for me. I love that people will be able to eat my version of my kind of Pastelitos. Every time I have this dish, I get flashbacks of those mornings and it reminds me of my grandmother.
