MEET KENNETH

Where are you from and what high school did you attend?

I am from the United States, Massachusetts, Boston, Dorchester, and I attended Excel High School.

Besides cooking, what other passions and interests do you have and how do you fulfill them?

I enjoy playing video games or working with technology in general. I usually fulfill these passions during my free time and use my computer to learn about new things on the internet or just play games.

What would you tell other young people about Future Chefs who are interested in joining our program?

Future Chefs is a very good starting experience to learning your way around a kitchen and gaining experience, knowledge, and feedback in the culinary world.

What are your school, career, and life goals over the next 3-5 years?

Culinary school at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, and potentially becoming a good chef that can start his own business/restaurant.

How did you hear about Future Chefs? What inspired you to join our program?

My guidance counselor informed me of the opportunity to join Future Chefs. I was interested in cooking beforehand but never got the opportunity to learn in a proper environment. This led me to take a hold of this opportunity and learn what I can.

Did you have an interest in food before joining Future Chefs?

Yes I did, for a long time.

How has the Future Chefs program impacted you? 

It has helped me expand my knowledge of cooking and also my aspirations for cooking as well.

Do you have any mentors who have guided you? Is there someone you would like to shout out for supporting you during high school or this past year? 

Shout out to Sam and Latrese for guiding us through the kitchen environment.

Would you recommend FC to other young people? 

I think FC is a good opportunity good young people to take.

How have Future Chefs activities expanded your confidence? 

Future Chefs has definitely expanded my confidence when it comes to identifying kitchen equipment and also my knife skills.
