Where are you from and what high school did you attend?
I am from the Dorchester neighborhood In Boston. I attend Boston Day and Evening.
Besides cooking, what other passions/ interests do you have? How do you fulfill these passions/interests?
I enjoy playing games and fiddling with numbers and statistics - I have a group of friends that I play games with or discuss random stats with.
What would you tell other young people who are interested in joining our program about Future Chefs?
I will tell people that it is a very welcoming community where you are able to feel safe and be yourself. All the staff are very helpful and actually listen to your struggles.
What are your school, career, and life goals over the next 3-5 years?
My goals currently are to work in a professional culinary environment and build on the foundations that FC has given me. And to keep learning about the culinary world.
How did you hear about Future Chefs? What made you join the program?
I was lucky enough to have a family member who was working at FC. During the pandemic, I had no idea what I was interested in pursuing and my family member told me that I would really enjoy it. It was a great opportunity and I really enjoyed it.
How has the Future Chefs program impacted you?
The FC program has given me the opportunity to express myself creatively. Before I was only playing games and doing math and crunching numbers. FC allowed me to express more of my chaotic nature by giving me an outlet to test random ingredients.
